HISTORY
The development of Narrogin Cottage Homes commenced in the early 1960’s when local service organisations joined together to address the need to provide affordable housing for aged members within the community. Development has taken place in stages over the years with the first homes being built in 1963 and the original residential facility ‘Karinya’ being constructed in 1979.
Continual improvements have seen the facility expand and in 2017 the most recent extension was officially named the 'Maxwell Wing' in recognition of the significant contribution Mr Robert Maxwell has made to Narrogin Cottage Homes through his 30 plus years membership on Board. Today the village is comprised of ‘Karinya’, a 36 bed ageing-in-place facility, 'Maxwell Wing' a 14 bed secure dementia wing and 64 self-contained units of various styles.
